You can also turn this cake into a 6″ inch white velvet cake by using two 6″ x 3″ inch round cake pans. Sep 30, 2022Black Velvet Cake. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray three 8-inch cake pans with baking nonstick spray. Line the bottom of the pans with 8-inch parchment paper circles. Spray again. In a large bowl, sift the flour and black cocoa powder together. Add the sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Whilst the passion fruit purée is cooling slightly whip the double cream to form soft peaks. Using a spatula vigourously mix half of the whipped cream into the passion fruit. Add the second half of the cream and fold gently to combine. Half fill each of the 4 circular mousse rings. Push a raspberry into the mousse.
